Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 4, 2025
1. Introduction
Welcome to GemLog. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information related to our website and Chrome Extension.
2. Information We Collect
We limit collection to the minimal amount necessary to operate GemLog:
- Account information (name and email) — only if you sign in via Google OAuth
- Personal development notes you explicitly create
- No code, repository content, or browsing history is collected
3. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information exclusively to:
- Authenticate your account and sync your notes securely
- Provide the GemLog note‑taking and reflection features
- Improve service stability and performance
4. Data Storage and Security
Notes you create through the GemLog extension are stored either locally in your browser (Chrome storage) or in user‑controlled cloud databases via Supabase. All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption. Payment transactions are handled by Stripe; GemLog never stores credit card details.
5. Data Sharing
GemLog does not sell or share your data with third parties. We may share limited information only when:
- Required by law or government authority
- When explicit user consent is provided (e.g., integration you enable)
- To trusted service providers such as Stripe that process data under strict security agreements
6. Your Rights
- Access, correct, and delete your data at any time
- Export your data through the GemLog account dashboard
- Withdraw consent to data processing and remove your account
7. Cookies
Our site uses cookies solely for authentication (login sessions) and analytics to improve the user experience. You can disable cookies in your browser’s settings at any time.
8. Chrome Extension and Remote Code Policy
The GemLog Chrome Extension operates only on GitHub domains and does not load remote code of any kind. All scripts run locally within the extension bundle. The extension does not track, analyze or transmit browsing activity outside GitHub.
9. Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated periodically. Updates will be posted here with a new “Last updated” date. Significant changes will be communicated via email or in‑app notification.
